Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun will host a year-end livestream to dismantle the YU7

Xiaomi YU7 SUV high-performance version expected at September 25 event

Xiaomi is expected to unveil new high-performance version of the YU7 SUV during founder Lei Jun’s annual speech on September 25. Industry sources suggest the model may be named the YU7 GT .  Recent spy photographs have shown a heavily camouflaged prototype of the YU7 testing at Germany’s Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit . The test car featured a red-and-grey wrap, similar to that used by the SU7 Ultra during earlier trials. Observers noted wider front fenders, a more muscular rear section, and an overall wider stance compared with the standard YU7.  Reports indicate that the YU7 GT could adopt a tri-motor system similar to the powertrain of the previously launched SU7 Ultra. It comprises three electric motors. The front axle has a single e-motor for 288 kW (286 hp). The rear axle adopts two electric motors for 450 kW (570 hp). Deutsche Bank expects Xiaomi to deliver 100,000 YU7 SUV units in 2025

Deutsche Bank expects Xiaomi to deliver 100,000 units of the YU7 SUV in full-year 2025 , with 280,000 units of full-year delivery volume for the SU7 sedan , according to a a research note today. Xiaomi introduced the YU7's key specs and features yesterday, saying the official launch will be in July. Xiaomi's electric vehicle (EV) unit, Xiaomi EV, had originally planned to deliver 300,000 units in 2025 , which is the combined capacity of two phases of its Beijing plant.  On March 18 , Xiaomi founder, chairman, and Ceo Lei Jun announced that Xiaomi EV had upped its vehicle delivery target to 350,000 units for the full year 2025. Xiaomi is a latecomer to the Chinese EV market, but the SU7's sales, have proven its success.
