The first model under the revived Freelander brand by the Chery Jaguar Land Rover joint venture , was revealed in filings from the China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). Chinese state-owned automaker Chery will join the 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race in five years with its Exeed high-end brand. Chery will become the first Chinese company to participate in this prestigious racing series  The Chery-owned Exeed brand announced on December 15 that it signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Automobile Club de l’Ouest (A.C.O). It is the creator and organizer of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It is worth noting that Chery will become the first Chinese company to join the 24 Hours of Le Mans.  Exeed announced a five-year “Road to Le Mans” initiative as it aims to participate in this prestigious racing series.  The disclosed plan includes three core phases . At first, Chery will launch the “Exeed Unified Race” local endurance racing selection system. According to some Chinese sources Maserati and Alfa Romeo are planning to use Chery’s E0X high-performance electric platform as the basis for their future electric models, following the adoption of the E0X platform by the first SUV under Land Rover’s Freelander brand . Another source stated that Chery’s E0X platform and its iCAR brand are currently in negotiations with several European and South Korean automakers. The source added: “Chery’s chassis and platform technologies are increasingly being recognized by international carmakers”.  The E0X platform is one of Chery’s core electrification achievements , developed over four years at a cost of more than RMB 10 billion ($1.4 billion). It supports both battery-electric (BEV) and range-extended electric (EREV ) powertrains. This modular architecture allows for flexible wheelbases between 2850 mm and 3100 mm. Maserati e Alfa Romeo potrebbero utilizzare la piattaforma E0X di Chery come base per i nuovi modelli elettrificati di entrambi i marchi. Secondo alcune indiscrezioni circolate in Cina le trattative sono in corso e in fase di discussione.  La piattaforma E0X è stata sviluppata in 4 anni con un investimento di oltre 10 miliardi di yuan (1,4 miliardi di dollari), può supportare sia propulsori full electric sia powertrain elettrici ad autonomia estesa (Erev) con range extender. Si tratta di un’architettura modulare per lo sviluppo di modelli con passo compreso fra 2.850 mm e 3.100 mm , può integrare anche la tecnologia di ricarica rapida a 800 V che permette di ottenere fino a 400 km di autonomia con soli 10 minuti di ricarica ed è inoltre già conforme alle normative in vigore in oltre 50 Paesi.  La piattaforma E0X è già stata adottata da Land Rover per il primo Suv venduto in Cina a partire dal 2026 con il nome Freelander e potrebbe essere utilizzata anche dalla coreana...
