Huawei, JAC and Stellantis in talks to build Maserati, chinese report says

Huawei, Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group Corp (JAC), Stellantis and the European auto giant's Maserati brand are in talks to jointly build new energy vehicle (NEV) models for the Maserati brand, chinese media reported on Wednesday. The cooperation approach is similar to the five brands under Huawei's HIMA (Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance) business, with the first model expected to enter mass production in the second half of next year , according to the report. Under this highly specialized framework, Huawei will lead product definition and provide core technologies. JAC will be responsible for joint research and development as well as manufacturing, while Maserati will offer styling design and brand endorsement. The co-developed models will be launched in two versions for different markets. BYD plans a network of mini EV dealerships to promote its Racco electric kei car in Japan

Maextro S800 December sales in China topped combined Porsche Panamera, BMW 7 Series, Maybach S-Class total

The electric sedan from Huawei and JAC outsold the Porsche Panamera, the BMW 7 Series, and the Maybach S-Class combined in China last month and became the most popular luxury sedan priced above 700,000 yuan ($100,000)  The Maextro S800, a sedan under the brand jointly created by Huawei and Jianghuai Automobile (JAC) , topped the sales chart in December with 4,376 units sold (including 234 pure-electric versions). This figure is approximately 4 times the sales of the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class during the same period and also exceeds the combined sales (4,130 units) of the Porsche Panamera (1,593 units), BMW 7 Series (1,429 units), and Mercedes-Maybach S-Class (1,118 units).  It is worth noting that other Chinese high-end sedans were far from first place in terms of domestic sales. The 23rd Guangzhou International Automobile Exhibition, or Auto Guangzhou 2025, run f rom November 21 to 30 featuring 93 new models making their debut, surpassing the 78 unveiled in 2024. November 21 is media day, open only to press and invited guests. The general public can visit from November 22 to 30.  The total number of exhibited vehicles will be 1,085, including 629 new energy vehicle (NEV) models, or 58 percent. Major i nternational automotive brands including BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Volkswagen, Ford, General Motors, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, and Kia will participate in the event.
