Xiaomi Auto Opens Global Website Ahead of Planned 2027 Europe Launch
Xiaomi Auto has taken its first visible step toward international sales, launching global social media channels and a dedicated overseas website as the Chinese technology group prepares to bring its electric vehicle business to Europe in 2027
The new international site, xiaomiauto.com, went live on Wednesday alongside overseas social media accounts under the Xiaomi Auto name. Its most prominent message states that Xiaomi Auto is “officially coming to Europe in 2027,” positioning the region as the first announced destination in the company’s global automotive expansion.
Europe confirmed, but market details remain undisclosed
For now, Xiaomi has not identified which European countries will receive its cars first, nor has it published local pricing, order dates or a precise sales launch window. The site functions primarily as a brand and technology showcase rather than a transactional retail platform, with no configurator, purchasing portal or market-specific price list available at this stage.
The homepage highlights several current and future-facing projects, including the Xiaomi SU7, Xiaomi SU7 Ultra, Xiaomi YU7 GT, Xiaomi Sky Nomad and Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo. Their presence on the site, however, should not be read as confirmation of the initial export line-up.
Brand-building and dealer recruitment begin in parallel
The website includes Newsroom, Innovation and Core Technology sections, as well as a Dealer and Distribution Inquiries portal aimed at potential retail and distribution partners. That structure suggests Xiaomi is beginning to build both public awareness and commercial infrastructure ahead of its European debut.
The move is consistent with previous comments from Xiaomi president William Lu, who said in May that the company planned to begin its formal overseas automotive expansion in the third or fourth quarter of 2027, with preparations progressing on schedule.
A cautious route into regulated markets
Xiaomi’s stated overseas strategy is to enter developed markets before expanding into developing economies, focus first on the mid- to high-end segment, and prioritize right-hand-drive markets before left-hand-drive ones. Lu has previously noted that international expansion in the automotive sector requires extensive preparation, including legal compliance, regulatory approval, product localization and the creation of sales and retail networks.
The company’s European groundwork is already visible in its research footprint. The international website lists Munich among Xiaomi Auto’s global research and development locations, alongside Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing and Wuhan, signalling that Europe is becoming part of the brand’s engineering and market-preparation network.
