Maserati and Alfa Romeo are planning to adopt Chery’s electric platform

According to some Chinese sources Maserati and Alfa Romeo are planning to use Chery’s E0X high-performance electric platform as the basis for their future electric models, following the adoption of the E0X platform by the first SUV under Land Rover’s Freelander brand . Another source stated that Chery’s E0X platform and its iCAR brand are currently in negotiations with several European and South Korean automakers. The source added: “Chery’s chassis and platform technologies are increasingly being recognized by international carmakers”. The E0X platform is one of Chery’s core electrification achievements , developed over four years at a cost of more than RMB 10 billion ($1.4 billion). It supports both battery-electric (BEV) and range-extended electric (EREV ) powertrains. This modular architecture allows for flexible wheelbases between 2850 mm and 3100 mm.
