Nio’s Spring Festival battery swaps reached 2,073,500 times, up 29,4% daily year-on-year

The Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker officially releases its 2026 Spring Festival Battery Swap Report. Data shows that during this Spring Festival holiday, Nio provided a total of 3,271,441 charging and battery swap services, a 26.6% increase in daily average compared to last year’s Spring Festival. Among these, battery swap services reached 2,073,500 times, a year-on-year daily average increase of 29.4%

Nio officially releases its 2026 Spring Festival Battery Swap Report. The data covers February 10-23. The recently concluded 2026 Chinese New Year holiday ran from February 15-23. The report includes the three brands: Nio, Onvo, and Firefly. Data shows that during this Spring Festival holiday, Nio provided a total of 3,271,441 charging and battery swap services, a 26.6% increase in daily average compared to last year’s Spring Festival. Among these, battery swap services reached 2,073,500 times, a year-on-year daily average increase of 29.4%. 

Notably, Nio also supplied 25,283,118 kWh of electricity for highway charging and swapping during the holiday, accounting for 15% of the national highway charging and swapping volume. Looking at the trend, battery swap volume entered “rapid growth mode” immediately after the Spring Festival holiday officially began. 

The data indicates that on February 19, daily battery swaps exceeded 165,898 for the first time, and on February 22, the number surpassed 177,627, setting a new historical record and achieving a “five-day consecutive increase” since the start of the Year of the Horse. According to official sources, during this period, a battery swap service was completed in an average of less than 0.5 seconds per vehicle. 

The busiest highway stations — Longshan Service Area on G60 Shanghai-Kunming Expressway and Xianshan Service Area on G42 Shanghai-Chengdu Expressway — each handled nearly 200 daily services. 

In terms of user mileage, during the statistical period, users traveled a total of over 960 million kilometers. Among them, 3,981 users traveled more than 5,000 kilometers cumulatively, and 145,443 users drove over 500 kilometers in a single day. During their journeys, 182,519 users relied entirely on battery swap services, and over 80% of the energy replenishment on highways came from battery swapping. 

It is worth mentioning that Nio’s charging network has always been open to the entire industry. During this holiday, over 85% of the charging electricity was used by new energy vehicle users of other brands.
