Xpeng completed trial production of the 2026 P7+ at its Austrian plant ahead of January 9 Europe launch

The Chinese automaker has completed trial production of the updated P7+ at its Graz, Austria factory, as the sedan prepares for its European launch, the company announced on January 5. The 2026 P7+ is scheduled to launch in China on January 8 and will officially enter the European market on January 9  

The 2026 Xpeng P7+ has completed trial production at the Graz plant in Austria, the Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker announced on January 5. Xpeng stated that joint Chinese-Austrian teams are advancing the remaining development and production processes to ensure quality delivery, adding that it anticipates this AI-powered vehicle will deliver intelligent and comfortable mobility experiences to global users. 

The Xpeng plant utilizes the production line of Magna Steyr, an Austrian-based contract manufacturer and subsidiary of Magna International, and began manufacturing the G6 and G9 SUVs in September 2025. 

Xpeng announced that the updated P7+ and the extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) version of its G7 Suv will be launched in China on January 8 and in Europe on January 9. The China launch event will begin at 3:00 pm Beijing time in Guangzhou -- Xpeng's headquarters city -- while the European event will begin at 9:00 am local time in Brussels, Belgium, at the Brussels Motor Show. The 2026 Xpeng P7+ will also enter 36 countries.

Both the current P7+ and G7 models are currently available only as battery electric vehicles (BEVs). They will soon receive EREV variants as Xpeng advances its "dual-powertrain" strategy. Xpeng aims to alleviate range anxiety by leveraging the combination of a large battery pack and a fuel tank in its EREV models, thereby driving further sales growth. 

The 2026 P7+ largely retains the current model’s exterior design, with minor updates. The front end continues to feature a split design, with the family star-ring light on top and the combined high- and low-beam headlights below. At the rear, the vehicle maintains a minor ducktail spoiler. 

New additions include a small blue auxiliary driving light in the center of the tail lamp and a POWER X badge, reflecting the updated range-extended variant seen in prior images. Inside, the cabin retains the previous model’s overall layout while introducing new color options, including soft purple and morning mist blue. 

Key upgrades include an 8.8-inch instrument cluster, a 29-inch head-up display, hidden air-conditioning vents, star-fall ambient lighting, a microfiber-suede wireless charging panel, a microfiber ceiling, and an electronic, lockable glovebox. 

The 2026 P7+ will be offered in both all-electric and extended-range electric variants. The extended-range version has a CLTC comprehensive range of 1,550 km and a pure electric range of 430 km, making it the world’s longest-range EREV sedan. It is also be equipped with an 800V high-voltage platform and 49.2 kWh lithium iron phosphate 5C fast-charging battery with a thickness of 109 mm. The BEV has a range of 725 km. The 2026 P7+ will enter the European market following its China launch, aligning with Xpeng’s global expansion strategy and ongoing production efforts at the Austrian facility. 

The Xpeng G7 EREV variant is powered by a 1.5T engine and electric motor. The engine has a maximum power of 110 kW (148 hp/150 Cv), and the electric motor has 218 kW (292 hp/296,05 Cv). An 800V high-voltage platform and 55.8 kWh 5C fast charging battery are also present. Its pure electric range is 430 km and comprehensive range is 1,704 km. Under fast-charging, the battery can recharge 314 km in just 12 minutes. 

The 2026 P7+ will enter the European market following its China launch, aligning with Xpeng’s global expansion strategy and ongoing production efforts at the Austrian factory.
