Onvo launches new special edition variants for its L90 EV Suv to celebrate the upcoming Chinese Year of the Horse

Onvo, a sub-brand of Nio, has launched new special edition variants for its L90 large EV Suv to celebrate the upcoming Chinese Year of the Horse, following a similar move for the L60 EV Suv. Onvo has named the two new L90 variants the "Ma Dao Cheng Gong" (马到成功) edition, a Chinese phrase signifying blessings for success and smooth progress, mirroring its approach with the L60 midsize Suv last week.
The L90 special edition offers Max and Ultra options: both special edition variants are exclusively available with a 6-seat configuration and do not apply to the 7-seat variant. They come standard with exclusive horse-themed interior and exterior styling packages, with display models now available at Onvo stores.
The L90 special edition offers Max and Ultra options, starting at 296,800 yuan ($42,620) and 316,800 yuan ($45,428) respectively. The Max variant costs 31,680 yuan, or 11.66%, more than the standard Pro variant priced at 265,800 yuan. It commands 27,980 yuan, or 6.08%, more than the standard Max variant priced at 279,800 yuan.
Under the BaaS (Battery as a Service) plan, the starting prices for the two special edition options are 210,800 yuan ($30,228) and 230,800 yuan ($33,096) respectively, with a monthly battery rental fee of 899 yuan ($130).
The Onvo L90 large Suv was launched on July 31, 2025, rapidly turning into one of Nio’s bestselling cars. The Onvo L90 is a full-size crossover with dimensions of 5145/1998/1786 mm and a 3,110 mm wheelbase. The drag coefficient is 0.25 Cd.
This Suv boasts a 240L front trunk (frunk): this frunk can accommodate two 20-inch suitcases plus a children’s luggage and backpack, or a single 30-inch check-in luggage. According to Onvo, it’s spacious enough to hold a week’s worth of family groceries. Additionally, the rear trunk offers 430L of space (including 106L of hidden storage), further enhancing the vehicle’s utility for family users.

The car’s interior adopts two layout variants for six (2+2+2) and seven (2+3+2) seats. The L90 offers an 8.86-liter refrigerator, that can hold twelve 330ml soda cans and supports various temperature settings between 0-50°C. This refrigerator consumes 2 kWh of power per week and remains operational even when the vehicle is locked.
Entertainment options include a 17.3-inch 3K high-definition ceiling entertainment screen and an 8-inch rear entertainment screen with dual desktop options. The L90 features a standard Onvo Sound Premium system with 23 speakers with a maximum output of 2048W. The system boasts 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos certification.

The L90 comes standard with an 85kWh battery pack that can charge from 10-80% in just 25 minutes. Range figures stand at 605km for the RWD version and 570km for the AWD variant.
On the performance side, the L90 employs a 900V high-voltage architecture, heat pump air conditioning, PTC heater, onboard charger, DC voltage converter, and battery pack. The L90 features the same 925V high-performance silicon carbide permanent magnet synchronous motor as the Nio ET9, weighing 79kg and occupying only 37L of space.

The rear motor delivers a peak power of 340kW (456 hp) with a maximum rotation speed of 20,000rpm, enabling the RWD version to accelerate from 0-100km/h in 5.9 seconds. The all-wheel drive version adds a 900V asynchronous induction front motor with 100kW (134 hp) peak power, allowing 0-100km/h acceleration in 4.7 seconds.
