Ford opens pre-orders in China for new Bronco EV and EREV

The pure electric Bronco is all-wheel drive (AWD) with a combined output of 232 kW (311 hp) and a range of 650 km. The plug-in hybrid variant can travel up to 1,220 km. Officially launch by the end of the year

Ford has officially launched blind pre-orders for its new Bronco Ev and Erev SUV. Customers who place a 1,000 yuan ($140) deposit will receive a complimentary “One-Touch Roof Camping Package” valued at 12,000 yuan ($1,700). This package includes an electric lifting roof and one-touch automatic folding front seat headrests. The Ford Bronco will be available in both pure electric and extended-range versions. According to Ford, the vehicle will begin pre-sales at the upcoming Guangzhou Auto Show in November (21-24 November 2025) and will be officially launched by the end of the year.

Design-wise, the new Bronco maintains the iconic family styling. The front features an illuminated “BRONCO” logo integrated with the headlights to create a light bar. The Bronco also offers an “Off-road Logbook” feature with over 20 classic routes carefully curated by Ford, allowing users to plan trips through the vehicle’s infotainment system.

The extended-range version measures 5025/1960/1825 (1815/1840) mm in length/width/height with a wheelbase of 2950 mm. The pure electric version has similar dimensions at 5025/1960/1815 (1825) mm. The curb weight of Bronco EV is 2,630 kg.

The pure electric Bronco is all-wheel drive (AWD) with a 130 kW motor on the front axle and a 202 kW motor in the rear, providing a combined output of 232 kW (311 hp). The pure electric model comes with a 105.4 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) blade battery from BYD offering a range of 650 km. The top speed is 170 km/h.

The plug-in hybrid variant, the Ford Bronco EREV (extended-range electric vehicle), will feature the same electric motor in front and a smaller 180 kW motor on the rear axle. In addition to the electric powertrain, it will feature a 1.5-litre internal combustion engine (ICE) with 110 kW of power. As it is an EREV, the ICE is not connected to the wheels and only functions as a power generator for the battery or can help electric motors.

The EREV version features a 43.7 kWh battery, capable of providing a 220 km BEV range. Combined with a 1.5L ICE, it can travel up to 1,220 km. The curb weight is 2,510 kg.
