Xiaomi SU7 Ultra was launched in China with a starting price of 529,900 yuan
The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra performance electric sedan was launched in China with a starting price of 529,900 yuan ($72,830). This vehicle boasts a peak power of 1,526 hp and a zero-to-hundred acceleration time of 1.98 seconds.
In late October 2024, Xiaomi kicked off presales of the performance variant of the SU7 sedan. It is called the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra. The presales price of the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra was announced at 814,900 yuan (111,790 USD). The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra Prototype became the fastest four-door sedan at the Nürburgring Nordschleife. On February 11, the mass-produced variant of this sedan became the fastest car at the Chengdu Tianfu Circuit. On February 27, the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra finally entered the Chinese market with a starting price of 529,900 yuan ($72,830).
This vehicle boasts a peak power of 1,526 hp and a zero-to-hundred acceleration time of 1.98 seconds. Xiaomi aims to sell 10,000 units of the SU7 Ultra in 2025. Deliveries of the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra will start in April 2025. The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra adopts the design language of the regular sedan with a few exceptions. The performance model could be distinguished by a larger front spoiler, brakes, and rear spoiler. Moreover, the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra boasts a wider body, and five unique body colors: Black, White, Yellow, Silver, and Green. Another fine feature of this electric beast is golden details, including a 24-carat gold emblem in the front end.
The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra’s dimensions are 5115/1970/1465 mm with a wheelbase of 3000 mm. The car’s rear spoiler has a width of 1,560 mm and a cord length of 240 mm. Together with an active rear diffuser, the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra provides 285 kg downforce at high speeds. The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra adopts 21-inch wheels with Pirelli P Zero 5 tyres and 430-mm carbon ceramic brake discs in the front. These are the largest brake discs on a sports car to date. However, the Xiaomi SU7 is a heavy car with a curb weight of 2,360 kg. The rear brake discs of the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra are slightly smaller at 410 mm. The maximum temperature of the ceramic brakes is said to be over 1300°C (2372°F). The car has Akebono 6-piston calipers in the front axle and 4-piston calipers in the rear. Xiaomi claims that the SU7 Ultra can stop from 100 km/h in 30.8 meters. The Xiaomi SU7 can stop from 180 km/h ten times in a row without the decrease of braking efficiency. The car features dual-chamber air suspension that can adjust the stiffness and ground clearance of the car independently. It also has a track version cooling system.
The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra goes standard with three electric motors on board. There is a single e-motor for 288 kW (386 hp) in the front axle, and two 425 kW (570 hp) electric motors in the rear axle. The combined power output of the system reaches 1,138 kW (1,526 hp). The peak torque is 1,770 Nm. The SU7 Ultra rear motors can reach 27,200 rpm. As a result, the sedan speeds up to 100 km/h in 1.98 seconds. The top speed is over 359 km/h. his beast adopts a CATL-made Qilin 2.0 ternary NMC battery pack for 93.7 kWh. It provides a cruising range of 620 km (CLTC). It takes 11 minutes to charge this battery from 10 to 80%. The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra battery adopts a “bulletproof coating” with 10 times increased tear and scratch resistance, 10 times increased adhesion, and 13 times increased puncture resistance. The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra became the fastest mass-produced car at the Shangai International Circuit in February 2025 with a lap time of 2:09.944 seconds. The runner-up is the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT with a lap time of 2:11.28 seconds.
The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra interior offers loads of carbon fiber. It was used in 17 locations such as the front seat, center console, door sill, steering wheel, and roof (which has an area of 1.7 square meters, bringing 12kg of weight reduction), with a total coverage of 3.74 square meters. With exterior parts included, the carbon fiber coverage of the SU7 Ultra is 5.5 square meters.
Other features of the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra include sporty Alcantara-covered seats, a gear shifter behind the wheel, and a large display in the center console. In total, Alcantara covers 5 square meters of the SU7 Ultra interior, including the steering wheel, seats, door cards, and the dashboard. According to the brand’s representatives, Alcantara helps avoid light reflection problems. Moreover, Alcantara weighs 50% less than traditional leather. It has a positive effect on improving the dynamic performance of the vehicle.
The SU7 Ultra interior has three color options. The car’s front seats support a 10-point massage. There are 25 speakers inside the SU7 Ultra cabin, including independent speakers in the driver’s seat. Other details include dual 50W wireless phone charging pads and double-layer glass for four doors. Under the hood, the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra has 105 liters of space. The whole car glass blocks over 99% of UV rays. The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra interior has an OLED screen, and an augmented reality head-up display. The SU7 Ultra supports voice control and recognition.
The intelligent driving system of the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra adopts three LiDARs, twelve cameras, and five millimeter-wave radars. This model supports the Navigation On Autopilot (NOA) system and valet parking. The Xiaomi HAD system with an advanced self-parking system will be available in March 2025. The Xiaomi HAD system was trained by 10 million clips. The driving assistance system of the SU7 Ultra is also equipped with autonomous emergency braking system.
