2026 NIO ES6

NIO announced on Wednesday that it will officially launch the 2026 ES6, EC6, ET5, and ET5 Touring on Thursday, April 2, updating its four lower-priced models. A launch event will begin at 6:00 pm Beijing Time on Thursday. The new models will see significant upgrades across three dimensions — design, configuration and intelligent driving experience — with special edition versions also set to debut alongside the standard lineup.

As the core models in NIO’s sales portfolio, the refresh of the “5566” series is far more than a minor facelift.

The most eye-catching upgrade lies in the social and visual dimensions of the intelligent driving experience. The 2026 ET5, ET5T, ES6 and EC6 will all come standard with the “Little Blue Light” — an assisted driving status indicator. This feature makes the vehicle’s autonomous driving status instantly recognizable to others on the road, enhancing a sense of interaction and safety.

On the comfort front, NIO’s ES6 and EC6 have long won over users with the “Queen’s Co-Pilot” seat. With this refresh, both models will, for the first time, feature a zero-gravity seat for the driver.

While the official technical specifications have not yet been fully disclosed, market speculation suggests the new models are highly likely to see updates on the underlying technology front — including an 800V architecture and the NX9031 autonomous driving chip.

The launch of the 2026 “5566” series is merely the opening course in what is shaping up to be a major product year for NIO.

2026 NIO EC6

According to NIO’s plans, the company will leverage a multi-brand, multi-dimensional product matrix this year to drive growth in both sales and revenue.

Shortly after the launch of the 2026 ES6, EC6, ET5 and ET5T, NIO’s new flagship SUV — the ES9 — will hold a technical launch event on April 9, followed by its official market debut at the end of May. In addition, the ONVO L80 will officially launch on May 15, while a five-seat version of the ES8 will go on sale in mid-July.

2026 NIO ET5T

By then, NIO will have built a product lineup spanning from mid-size SUVs to full-size large SUVs, covering the mainstream price range from 250,000 yuan to over 600,000 yuan.
