Xiaomi SU7 Ultra: official launch in China on February 27

Xiaomi EV, the car-making arm of Xiaomi, tannounced that the SU7 Ultra will be officially launched on February 27, with an event set to begin at 7 pm Beijing time on the same day

At the February 27 launch event, Xiaomi will also launch the Xiaomi 15 Ultra smartphone, according to a Weibo posted by the company today. These are the two most high-end products in Xiaomi's fifteen years of existence, the company's founder, chairman, and CEO Lei Jun said. "Ultra, is the ultimate pursuit and pure aspiration. It is the answer piece to Xiaomi's high-end exploration in the last five years, and the beginning of Xiaomi's march towards the ultra-high-end," Lei said. 

The ultra-performance variant garnered 3,680 pre-orders 10 minutes after the pre-sales began on October 29 last year. Xiaomi's sales target for the SU7 Ultra this year is 10,000 units, Lei said on February 5. The SU7 Ultra -- the ultra-performance variant of Xiaomi's first electric model, the SU7 -- was unveiled on October 29 last year and went on pre-sales for 814,900 yuan ($112,420). 

The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is powered by a battery pack with a capacity of 93.7 kWh and is capable of delivering a range of 520 kilometers, 555 kilometers, 600 kilometers, or 630 kilometers, according to a catalog published by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). The model weighs 2,360 kilograms and the battery pack weighs 638 kilograms. The SU7 Ultra measures 5,070/5,115 mm, 1,970 mm and 1,465 mm in length, width and height respectively, with a wheelbase of 3,000 mm. The dimensions are larger than the regular SU7 sedan, which measures 4,997 mm, 1,963 mm, 1,455/1,440 mm in length, width and height, and has a wheelbase of 3,000 mm. 

Xiaomi founder, chairman, and CEO Lei Jun said on October 29 that the SU7 Ultra is Xiaomi's “Dream Car” for himself and more performance-minded drivers.
