Nio battery swap services have surpassed 60 million swaps

On December 13th, Nio officially announced that its battery swap services have surpassed 60 million swaps. Nio previously hit 50 million swaps in August 

On December 13th, Nio officially announced that its battery swap services have surpassed 60 million swaps. The swap stations average an approximate 80,000 swaps per day since the beginning of December. This means a car undergoes a battery swap at a Nio swap station every 1.08 seconds. Nio previously hit 50 million swaps in August and it has taken the company only 5 months to add an additional 10 million battery swaps. As of December 13, Nio has deployed 2,785 battery swap stations across the country, including 909 highway battery swap stations, 4,168 charging stations, 24,520 charging piles, and 1,167,000 third-party charging piles. It is the domestic automobile brand with the largest number of battery swap stations and charging piles. The company previously hit 2,500 swap stations operational worldwide in July, with 59 in Europe. In addition to the 2,785 swap stations, Nio operates 4,618 charging stations and 24,520 charging piles worldwide. On July 2, 2022 Nio reached its first 10 million swaps milestone after four years since the first battery swap took place in Shenzhen on May 20, 2018. Now the company has achieved 50 million more swaps in just two and half years. 

During Nio Power in August of this year, Nio founder, chairman and Ceo Li Bin announced aims to achieve battery swap coverage in an all 14 provincial-level administrative regions by June 30, 2025, covering more than 1,200 county-level administrative regions. In addition, Nio aims to achieve battery swapping in all 27 provincial-level administrative regions by December 31, 2025, covering more than 2,300 county-level administrative regions. Nio has three battery swap station assembly plants in China, with two others in Kunshan, Jiangsu province, and Hefei, Anhui province. Nio's vehicles are currently produced at its F1 and F2 plants in Hefei. Its F3 vehicle assembly plant, located near the F2 plant, is expected to be operational in the third or fourth quarter of 2025. On December 12, Nio announced that its first battery swap station in Belgium went live, its 59th in Europe. In Europe, Nio's vehicles are already available in five markets -- Norway, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden and Denmark. It has not yet started selling vehicles in Belgium. Nio has also ramped up its expansion efforts in the United Arab Emirates. The company opened its first flagship center in Abu Dhabi in November and is expected to have its first swap station in the country by 2025.
