Xpeng has unveiled range specs for the refreshed 2026 P7+
On December 29, the Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker announced its 2026 Xpeng P7+ will be offered in both BEV and EREV variants, featuring 104 upgrades and a complete redesign. The EREV will boast a 430 km electric range, making it the “world’s longest pure electric range range-extender sedan.”
Xpeng is set to launch the refreshed P7+ soon, aiming to boost sales of its mid-to-large sedan by adding extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) variants. On December 29, Xpeng announced its 2026 Xpeng P7+ will be offered in both BEV and EREV variants, featuring 104 upgrades, a complete redesign, as well as 725 km pure electric range and 1,550 km comprehensive range (CLTC), respectively.
Positioned as a global model, the 2026 Xpeng P7+ will also be launched in 36 countries. Furthermore, the BEV will come with an 800V platform and 5C fast charging. The EREV will boast a 430 km pure electric range, making it the “world’s longest pure electric range range-extender sedan.”
This is Xpeng’s second EREV model, and the thinking is straightforward: with 430 km on the battery, most daily driving can stay fully electric, while the range extender is there mainly as a safety net rather than something you rely on every day. In other words, Xpeng is pushing the EREV formula closer to an “EV-first” experience.
According to previous declaration information, the EREV will have dimensions of 5071/1937/1512 mm (l/w/h), with a wheelbase of 3000 mm and a curb weight of 2,160 kg. The body length is increased by 15 mm compared to the existing BEV variant.
The powertrain will consist of an 1.5T engine as the range extender that outputs a maximum power of 110 kW (148 hp) and an electric motor that outputs 180 kW (241 hp), paired with lithium iron phosphate battery and boasting a top speed of 200 km/h.
In terms of design, the refreshed P7+ was already shown in MIIT’s 400th filing. Changes are mainly in the details: a larger active grille up front, and a full-width taillight with body-colored bumpers at the rear, which visually lowers the car and makes it look wider and more planted. Xpeng is calling it a “refreshed version” rather than a routine annual update.
The company says it keeps class-leading cabin space while upgrading cabin refinement and comfort, with 104 experience updates and a 36% refresh of major assemblies. The bigger headline, though, is the rollout plan. Xpeng says the refreshed P7+ will launch in 36 countries under unified global manufacturing and safety standards. It’s being positioned as a global release from day one, not a China-first model that’s exported later—reflecting a shift in how Xpeng is approaching overseas markets.
The interior of the updated Xpeng P7+ will offer two more color combinations: Soft Purple and Morning Mist Blue. The car’s other upgrades include hidden air vents, an electrically powered glove box, a faux suede wireless charging pad, and a microfiber-covered ceiling. It also has a 256-color ambient lighting and wooden trim with chrome accents.
The 15.6-inch center screen of the Xpeng P7+ remains the same. However, it was upgraded with Apple CarPlay. A 29-inch augmented reality head-up display complemented an 8.8-inch instrument panel. Other notable upgrades are 20 speakers, a zero-gravity passenger seat, soft-close doors, and an active noise cancellation system.
The P7+ debuted on Nov. 7, 2023. Over the past year, cumulative sales have exceeded 87,000 units—second only to the MONA M03 within Xpeng’s lineup. The numbers suggest two clear draws: the “big-space coupe” packaging and Xpeng’s smart features, both of which continue to bring in new buyers. With the refreshed P7+, Xpeng is strengthening a proven product while using it as a key test case for its next-stage global push.
