Changan Mazda, the joint venture between Changan Automobile and Mazda in China, on September 26 officially launched the new mid-size Suv EZ-60 developed under the Mazda brand’s electrification strategy. Internationally, the model will be marketed as the Mazda CX-6e when it begins exports in 2026. The EZ-60 is based on Changan’s EPA architecture and is available with two powertrain choices: a pure electric version and a range-extended hybrid (EREV) version, representing a strategic model developed by Mazda for global markets.
The five-seat SUV measures 4,850 mm in length, 1,935 mm in width, and 1,620 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,902 mm. Despite its coupe-like form, the EZ-60 offers 350 litres of cargo space, which can be expanded to 2,036 litres with the rear seats folded flat. The fully electric version also features a 126-litre front trunk, and thoughtful storage features are strategically placed throughout the cabin to support daily practicality. All trims are equipped with 19-inch wheels as standard, while higher trims can be fitted with 21-inch rims.
Customers can choose from seven exterior colour options, including two exclusive finishes. The cabin features a wraparound layout and incorporates technology-oriented elements. A 26.45-inch 5K floating display serves as the central control interface, paired with a 4nm cabin processor. A 50-inch AR head-up display is standard, with a 100-inch 3D-HUD available as an upgrade. Seating is designed with zero-gravity front chairs that offer heating, ventilation, massage, and multiple power adjustments. The second row features a 4/6 split folding design.
The electric model features a 190 kW rear-mounted motor, paired with a 77.94 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate battery, which delivers a CLTC-rated range of 600 km. The EZ-60 EREV features a 72 kW, 1.5-litre engine—used solely as a generator—with a 190 kW electric motor and a 31.73 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate battery, offering 200 km of pure electric range.
The EZ-60 is Changan Mazda's first new energy SUV and its second globally targeted model following the EZ-6 sedan. Changan Mazda stated that the EZ-60 will be followed by additional new energy models, marking an expansion of the brand’s lineup in China before entering overseas markets.
The vehicle offers four extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) variants and two battery electric vehicle (BEV) variants. The four EREV variants start at 119,900 yuan ($16,810), 134,900 yuan ($18,907), 144,900 yuan ($29,309), and 154,900 yuan ($21,710) respectively. The two BEV variants start at 150,900 yuan ($21,150) and 160,900 yuan ($22,600).
