Nio launches ET5T Tron Edition limited to 555 units
The Chinese EV maker has unveiled a limited edition of its ET5 Touring wagon inspired by the sci-fi film Tron: Ares, with only 555 units available
Nio partnered with Disney to release a limited-edition ET5 Touring model (ET5T), the Tron Limited Edition, timed with the release of the movie Tron: Ares. ET5 Touring wagon is the Nio brand's best-selling model over recent months. Nio is the film's official co-promotional partner and has already displayed in China ET5 Touring and ET5 models featuring modifications based on the movie at select stores earlier this month.
The ET5T Tron Limited Edition features a deep space black exterior with Tron Limited Edition-themed decals. Standard equipment includes the Moon exterior theme package, roof rails, and 20-inch five-spoke wind-speed wheels with orange brake callipers. The edition also consists of the same chassis as Nio’s Champion Edition, with upgraded front and rear anti-roll bars, increased torsional rigidity by 6%, and a body roll gradient below 3 degrees per g. The chassis supports a dedicated sport-oriented software calibration and a new EP Mode for expanded driving scenarios and custom settings.
Inside, the Tron Limited Edition offers a futuristic design with standard Electric Purple interior trim and Nappa & Haptex dual-material seats. For a limited period, buyers also receive the “Comfort Pack,” which includes a heated steering wheel, front-seat ventilation and massage, and rear-seat heating. The model comes with the Nomi Mate 3.0 infotainment system. Priced at 316,000 yuan ($44,370) including a 100-kWh battery pack, the limited-edition ET5 Touring costs 18,000 yuan, or 6.04 percent, more than the standard model's starting price of 298,000 yuan. Under the BaaS (Battery as a Service) plan, it starts at 208,000 yuan ($29,204) with a monthly battery rental fee of 1,128 yuan.
The Nio ET5 Touring, first introduced in mid-2023 as the brand’s first estate model, quickly stood out for blending electric performance with everyday practicality. The ET5 Touring has dimensions of 4790/1960/1499 mm and a wheelbase of 2,888 mm. Storage-wise, the Touring continues to shine. With 529 litres of cargo space behind the second row and up to 1,687 litres when folded flat, it accommodates everything from sports gear to small furniture. The 4/2/4 split also makes it practical for longer items. One clever addition: the new magnetic mounts behind both front seats allow for easy placement of tablets or phones, which are ideal for rear-seat entertainment or working on the go.
