Xiaomi SkyNomad EREV SUV: 505 km of electric range confirmed
On July 16, Xiaomi officials disclosed that every SUV in the Skynomad series will feature a 76 kWh ternary NMC pack from CALB and will offer 505 km of electric range under CLTC conditions. Xiaomi said that the lineup of its first extended-range (EREV) Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) is designed to rely primarily on electricity for daily driving while using a gasoline-powered range extender to ease charging concerns on longer trips.

Xiaomi previously disclosed that the Sky Nomad lineup offers a maximum all-electric range of 380 km under the WLTC cycle, which is considered closer to real-world driving conditions, as well as a minimum charge-depleted fuel consumption of 5.7 L/100 km. The company later confirmed that the maximum range exceeds 500 km under the CLTC cycle, which has a lower average speed and more closely reflects urban commuting conditions in China.
WLTC covers a broader range of conditions, including urban, suburban and highway driving, while CLTC has a lower average speed and typically produces higher all-electric range figures. This also marks Xiaomi's first expansion from an all-BEV lineup into extended-range vehicles. Sky Nomad is not a standalone sub-brand, but a second product series parallel to SU7 and YU7, positioned as a lineup of "intelligent, reconfigurable, large-space SUVs."
This line will include the N70 large five-seat crossover and the flagship six-seat N90 SUV. The vehicles are equipped with a 1.5 L engine supplied by Harbin Dongan Auto Engine as a range extender, with a maximum net output of 112 kW and a top speed of 190 km/h. The engine is used to generate electricity, while the wheels are driven by electric motors.
The Skynomad N70 five-seat has dimensions of 4960/1998/1785 mm with a wheelbase of 2,950 mm. Its entry-level variant offers a single e-motor in the rear axle, producing 210 kW (282 hp). It is paired with a 52 kWh Sunwoda-made LFP pack, suitable for 270 km of electric range under WLTC conditions. The AWD trim level of the N70 has a 100 kW (134 hp) electric motor in the front axle, bringing the total power output to 310 kW (416 hp) with a mentioned 76 kWh battery.
The Xiaomi Skynomad N90 has dimensions of 5285/1998/1825 mm. It comes standard with two e-motors for 310 kW (416 hp). Xiaomi officials shared that the Skynomad N90 will make the live debut at the 29th Chengdu International Motor Show on August 21, marking the lineup's first appearance at a major auto show.
Xiaomi is also seeking to reduce reliability risks associated with its first extended-range vehicles through extensive road testing. As of June 30, the Sky Nomad lineup had used 566 test vehicles and completed more than 4.28 million km of real-world road testing across extreme cold, high temperatures, high altitudes and hot and humid environments.

The testing covered batteries and chassis systems, as well as range-extender performance during low-temperature starts, sustained high-altitude operation and charge-depleted driving. Xiaomi said extended-range vehicles have more complex powertrain systems than BEVs and therefore require additional dedicated testing.
