NIO brand’s average selling price jumped to 443,000 yuan ($65,250) in June

On July 6, NIO Vice President Ma Lin revealed that the average selling price (ASP) of the NIO brand reached 443,000 yuan ($65,250) in June, up 61,000 yuan ($8,985) from May, representing a month-on-month increase of about 16%

On July 6, NIO Vice President Ma Lin revealed that the average selling price (ASP) of the NIO brand jumped to 443,000 yuan ($65,250) in June 2026, up 61,000 yuan ($8,985) from May, representing a month-on-month increase of about 16% and underscoring the Chinese EV maker's pricing power in the premium market.

The increase was primarily driven by stronger deliveries of the brand’s premium models. NIO delivered 21,908 vehicles under its core NIO brand in June, with the ES8 and ES9 emerging as the main contributors to sales. The ES9, which entered its first full delivery month in June, played a particularly significant role. Priced between 498,000 yuan ($73,350) and 628,000 yuan ($92,500), it is currently NIO’s most expensive mass-produced model and also its highest-margin vehicle. Its delivery ramp has exceeded market expectations.

Since deliveries began on May 28, the ES9 reached its 10,000th delivery in just 30 days. This sets a new record for the fastest delivery ramp to 10,000 units among battery-electric SUVs priced above 500,000 yuan ($73,650) in China.

The six-seat aisle version of the NIO ES9

Meanwhile, deliveries of the six-seat walkthrough variant of the NIO ES9 have officially kicked off today, ahead of the original mid-July delivery schedule. The six-seat aisle version adopts independent second-row seats, with a central aisle providing direct access to the third row. NIO said the version still offers 816 liters of cargo space with all 6 seats occupied, enough to hold 13 suitcases, far exceeding the loading capacity of MPVs. This is consistent with the company's strategy of positioning the ES9 directly against premium MPVs.

The third-generation ES8 has also maintained solid momentum. Starting at 468,000 yuan ($68,930), the flagship SUV surpassed 120,000 cumulative deliveries on June 22. It has ranked No. 1 in both the full-size SUV segment and the 400,000-plus yuan ($58,900) vehicle segment for six consecutive months, regardless of powertrain or vehicle category. The new ES8 five-seat version is now available for pre-orders and is scheduled to launch officially on July 9, further expanding NIO’s premium product portfolio.

Deutsche Bank analysts noted that there is no cannibalization between the ES9 and the ES8 due to the significant price gap. The ES8 is positioned as a family vehicle, competing with Li Auto's Li L8 and the Huawei-backed Aito M8, while the ES9 is positioned as a business executive vehicle, competing with the Aito M9 and the Zeekr 9X.

Compared with other premium automakers, NIO’s average transaction price now ranks among the industry’s highest. According to company data, the NIO brand’s average transaction price stood at 382,200 yuan ($56,274.6) in May, exceeding Mercedes-Benz (including Maybach) at 375,800 yuan ($55,350), BMW at 315,400 yuan ($46,460), Aito at 315,300 yuan ($46,440), and Audi at 270,600 yuan ($39,860). While traditional luxury brands have seen average selling prices pressured by entry-level internal combustion models and increased retail discounting, NIO has continued to raise its transaction price through a richer mix of premium battery-electric vehicles.
